Template:Minigame-infobox Bumper Balls is a 4-player minigame in Mario Party, Mario Party 2 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Gameplay

Mario Party

The objective of the mini-game is to bump other players off a platform by utilizing personalized balls.

Mario Party 2

In Mario Party 2, there are three levels for the players to compete in and they each have different challenges.

  • The first level takes place on a platform surrounded by lava. It is a basic level.
  • The second level takes place on an icy mountain. In the middle is a Fly Guy frozen in ice. It can be very slippery on the mountain, so players must take care not to slide off.
  • The third level is on a floating isle in the ocean. Characters bumped off are carried away by Bloopers. The isle contains rocks and bumps which can slightly change the player's speed when rolling over them.

On both of these games, the last player standing wins. If one minute passes with two or more players remaining, or if the remaining players get eliminated, the minigame is a tie. On both the Mini-Game Island and Mini-Game Coaster, the player must eliminate the 3 CPU players within one minute to win, if time runs out before the task is completed or if the player is eliminated at any time, it is a miss.

Mario Party: The Top 100

Bumper Balls is one of the 100 minigames included in the minigame compilation game, Mario Party: The Top 100. Like the first level in Mario Party 2, it takes place on a platform surrounded by lava.

The balls have more power than in Mario Party and Mario Party 2, and the platform is smaller, significantly shortening the mini-game's average length.

Trivia

  • In Mini-Game Coaster, the version of this mini-game depends on the difficulty played: On Easy difficulty, the lava version is used. On Normal difficulty, the ice version is used. On Hard difficulty, the ocean version is used.
  • In the ice version, the Fly Guy encased in the ice is a cleverly disguised pre-rendered sprite, rather than a 3D model.[1]
