“Uh oh! Trouble! I can’t get out of here! I’ve been trapped inside a big bubble!! I’m in bubble trouble! That’s just a little joke of mine, heh heh!! How ‘bout it? Funny, huh? You should write that one down!”
Wario, Wario Land 4 instruction booklet

Bubble Wario[1] is one of Wario's many transformations in the Wario Land series of games. To achieve this transformation, Wario must become trapped within a bubble by touching one when swimming underwater. Wario can then float upwards while ignoring the effects of a water current, which would otherwise force Wario to move in a certain direction. To return to his normal form, he must simply float high enough to reach the air above, or hit a horizontal barrier which will stop him from floating up any further.

In Wario Land 3, Bubble Wario appears as it did in the previous installment. Wolfenboss inflicts a unique variant of this reaction with his smoke signal if Wario is hit by it, with Wario turning orange and being levitated into the air and out of the arena by smaller light-blue bubbles that circle around him instead of one giant bubble, making the same pose as and spinning around like regular Bubble Wario.

Bubble Wario is also one of three Wario transformations appearing in Densetsu no Starfy 3, along with Flaming Wario and Puffy Wario in Wario's guest appearance in the Undersea Ruins. Wario also becomes this form in the Wario Land 3 microgame from WarioWare Gold, where he has to be navigated between underwater spikes.

Trivia

  • In a microgame called Pushing Buttons, featured in WarioWare: Touched!, the artwork of Bubble Wario for Wario Land 4 appears on the screen of the virtual game system once its imperative button has been pressed.
