Bobsleigh is a Bobsleigh Event that appears in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The objective of the event is to reach the end of the course in the fastest time, with the event taking place in the Whistler Sliding Centre. The starting course record for this event is 00:58.680.

Gameplay

In this event, the player starts by repeatedly pressing the B Button and down on the Control Pad to cause the characters to run and being to push the bobsleigh. The faster the player presses the buttons, the faster their start will be. Once the bobsleigh has been pushed far enough, a command will appear onscreen consisting of either A Button, B Button, X Button, or Y Button and a direction on +Control Pad, which the player must press to enter the bobsleigh. The timing of their press will also affect their starting speed. Once the event starts, the bobsleigh will accelerate automatically and will continue to maintain speed as long as the bobsleigh does not hit an walls or crashes. To avoid this, the player can steer the bobsleigh with the front character by using left and right on +Control Pad and A Button and Y Button for the rear one. If the player steers with both characters simultaneously, they will be able to perform tighter turns and will over time fill up the team gauge, which significantly increases the bobsleigh's top speed once filled. The gauge depletes, however if the player hits a wall or crashes, which causes them to lose speed and empty the gauge. The team that makes it to the end of the course in the fastest time wins the event.

Basic Controls

  • Mash +Control Pad down & the B Button at "Go"!
  • Enter on-screen commands when it says "GET IN!"
  • Enter them quickly for a starting speed boost!
  • Use + Control Pad left and right for the front
  • rider, and the Y and A Buttons for the rear.
  • Turn sharply by both steering simultaneously!

Advanced Tips

  • Do teamwork turns to fill up the team gauge!
  • When full, your top speed will be increased!
