Template:Species-infobox Blue Hootzes are common enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They look like small, blue owl creatures that wear livid-colored viking helmets with tiny horns. Due to the structure of the helmet, whose margins are descending towards their downward-facing beaks, Blue Hootzes always seem to have angry expressions. Their body structure is rather simplistic, being egg-shaped and having two small wings on each side. Unlike Hot Hootzes, which they share traits with, Blue Hootzes are always engulfed by dangerous blue flames that never go out unless the enemy is defeated.

Blue Hootzes either hover stationarily in the air or fly around in set patterns, and usually appear in flocks of two or more. Because of their flames, they are difficult enemies to get around – Rambi the Rhino is not capable to destroy them. The only way to defeat a Blue Hootz is from a distance with a barrel or another throwable object. It is also effective to perform a Kong POW move in their presence to defeat them. Blue Hootzes function similarly to the Zingers of Donkey Kong Country and Flaming Tiki Buzzes of Donkey Kong Country Returns/3D.
