Big & Little Boo

A Big & Little Boo[1], also called Boo Clusters[2], is a variant of Boo that appears in the sewer levels in Yoshi's Story. Unlike other Boos who have a red mouth, they have a blue mouth. They consist of one larger Boo followed by smaller Boos. Big & Little Boos mirror the Yoshis' movements, approaching it when Yoshi came towards it. They can only be defeated by being tricked into looking away, allowing Yoshi to throw eggs at the smaller Boos in the same manner. Each group holds a melon. Big & Little Boos only appear in Stage 2-3: Jelly Pipe.

Trivia

  • Similar groups consisting of one Big Boo and three smaller Boo Buddies previously appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. However, they do not have a melon.
  • The Prima Games guide falsely claims that the Boos disappear once their melon is collected. However, they will disappear if moved offscreen far enough after their melon has been collected.
