Barter
Template:Character-infobox Barter is a member of the Brothers Bear who appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. He runs a swap shop business named Barter's Swap Shop, where he trades an item with his customer. It is on the Northern Kremisphere hub, located southwest of K3.
Appearance
Barter's original appearance differed between his artwork and in-game appearance. His artwork shows him in a business attire, including a black hat, leather shoes, pants, and a purple suit. He also has a small mustache. In the game, Barter's mustache was made bigger, and his shirt was changed to striped and white, with a striped green and yellow tie.
Like every Brothers Bear in the Game Boy Advance remake, Barter received a redesign. He wears a red fireman-like helmet, red pants with a black belt, and blue straps connecting to his belt. He also appears to wear a white, sleeveless shirt.
History
Barter is in possession of a No. 6 Wrench. While Dixie and Kiddy Kong do not use the wrench, Björn of Razor Ridge lost his No. 6 Wrench and needs a new one to repair his chairlifts. Barter is reluctant to trade the No. 6 Wrench, and only trades it with the Kongs if they provide the Mirror from Bazaar's General Store to him. The Kongs can later purchase the Mirror back for ten Bear Coins.
While Barter has the Mirror, his swap shop appears to be mirrored. Prior to owning it, Barter had a sloppier look. His appearance is neater when he has the Mirror, but he explains that the change occurred because he fell into a lake. He reverts to his untidy look if the Kongs regain the Mirror. Neither of these events happen in the Game Boy Advance port.
