Five Bananaport Pads on the ground

Bananaport Pads[1], or simply Bananaports[2], are objects in Donkey Kong 64 that allow easy travel in various areas via "bananaport", a large banana with a zipper. It comes in numbers 1–5 and each of the two pairs of Bananaport Pads need to be activated to work. Each Bananaport Pad has a different color depending on what number it has, 1 is blue, 2 is green, 3 is purple, 4 is red and 5 is yellow. In order to use a Bananaport Pad, the player needs to stand on one and press the Z Button button to bananaport to the other Pad of the same number. Although each area generally only has one pair of each Bananaport number, some areas have two sets of a few bananaports, generally to make navigating sub-areas easier.

List of Bananaporters

DK Isles

The first 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 pads are near the entrance to the tutorial area.

  • The second 1 pad is at K. Lumsy's island.
  • The second 2 pad is near the top of DK Island near Angry Aztec.
  • The second 3 pad is at the back of DK Island near the waterfall.
  • The second 4 pad is near the top of K. Rool's lair near Frantic Factory.
  • The second 5 pad is at the Banana Fairy Isle.

Jungle Japes

1 pad

  • At the entrance area
  • At the exit of the first tunnel near the cliff area

2 pad

  • At the beginning of the cliff area
  • Near the top of the cliff area near Diddy's mine area and Snide's HQ

3 pad

  • In the cliff area near the X and the cave with Donkey's Kasplat
  • Across the river near Lanky's cave and a cave with Diddy's Kasplat

4 pad

  • At the beginning of a cave to the storm area and Diddy's Kasplat behind the river
  • In the storm area near Cranky's Lab

5 pad

  • At the top of Diddy's mine area (requires Diddy to get a banana)
  • In the secret area that only Tiny Kong can open

Angry Aztec

Main area

1 pad
  • At the entrance cave
  • In the area with the Llama's cage and the domed temple and Candy's Music Shop
2 pad
  • Near the temple containing Tiny's jail cell
  • At the exit of the second cave
3 pad
  • Near Cranky's Lab in the second cave
  • At the entrance of the second area (next to the 4 pad)
4 pad
  • At the entrance of the second area (next to the 3 pad)
  • Near Funky's Store
5 pad
  • Near a Tag Barrel and Snide's HQ
  • Inside the third cave (after DK completes a Bonus Barrel)

Llama Temple

1 pad
  • At the bottom area (near the 2 pad)
  • At the back near the Tag Barrel and the matching game
2 pad
  • At the bottom area (near the 1 pad)
  • Inside a room only reachable by Tiny containing Lanky's Kasplat

Frantic Factory

1 pad

  • At the lobby (next to the 2 pad)
  • In the storage room

2 pad

  • At the lobby (next to the 1 pad)
  • In the R&B area

3 pad

  • At the lobby near the window of Snide's HQ
  • At the Snide's HQ area accessible from Testing near the lobby

4 pad

  • At the bottom of the production room
  • Near the top of the production room

5 pad

  • In the room with the Donkey Kong arcade game
  • Near Funky's Store in the Testing area

Gloomy Galleon

1 pad

  • In the entrance cave
  • In the lighthouse area (near the 5 pad)

2 pad

  • In the entrance cave above boxes
  • In the shipwreck area pointed to the left

3 pad

  • In the entrance cave on a raised platform near Tiny's Kasplat
  • In the lighthouse area near Snide's HQ

4 pad

  • In the shipwreck area pointed toward Candy
  • In the treasure room (Diddy must play the bonus stage first)

5 pad

  • In the lighthouse area (near the 1 pad)
  • In the shipwreck area pointed toward Funky

Fungi Forest

The first 1, 2, 3, and 4 pads are at the entrance.

  • The second 1 pad is in the mill area behind a blue tunnel.
  • The second 2 pad is near Funky's Store behind a green tunnel.
  • The second 3 pad is just outside the giant mushroom behind a purple tunnel.
  • The second 4 pad is near the big tree behind the yellow tunnel from the giant mushroom area.
  • The first 5 pad is in the giant mushroom area on a dirt pile.
  • The second 5 pad is at the top of the giant mushroom.

Crystal Caves

1 pad

  • At the entrance (next to the 2 pad)
  • In the igloo area (near the 3 pad)

2 pad

  • At the entrance (next to the 1 pad)
  • In the cabin area near Candy

3 pad

  • In the igloo area (near the 1 pad)
  • In a room near Cranky after Tiny completes Krazy Kong Klamor

4 pad

  • On a small platform near Cranky
  • In an isolated room behind Funky containing Diddy's Kasplat

5 pad

  • On the upper part of the cabins
  • On a platform with Lanky's Kasplat near Funky

Creepy Castle

Exterior

The first 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 pads are near the entrance.

  • The second 1 pad is at the entrance to the dungeon near the catacombs.
  • The second 2 pad is across the bridge from Lanky's Kasplat.
  • The second 3 pad is near Cranky midway up.
  • The second 4 pad is near the top by a garden and a trash can.
  • The second 5 pad is at the top of the level near Snide's HQ.

Interior

The first 1, 2, and 3 pads are at the entrance.

  • The second 1 pad is near Diddy's coffin by taking a left, followed by another left.
  • The second 2 pad is near Donkey's mine cart area by taking a left, followed by a right.
  • The second 3 pad is near Chunky's coffin room on the right path.

Hideout Helm

Lobby

  • The first 1 pad is at the front of the lobby.
  • The second 1 pad is near the entrance to Hideout Helm.

Main area

  • The first 1 pad is at the entrance.
  • The second 1 pad is in the control room beyond the Blast-O-Matic.
