Balloon Barrage
Template:Levelbox Balloon Barrage is the twenty-sixth level in the game Donkey Kong Land. It is also the third area in the Big Ape City.
In the first construction site level of Donkey Kong Land, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong will have to make their way across the area carefully. The stage is filled with a mixture of traps and obstacles, including tires, barrels, and chains, which must be used to travel across a whole large construction site in the city. In addition to the numerous obstacles, Kritters, Gnawties, Slippas, and even Krushas will appear as dangerous enemies throughout the level.
Level Layout
From the start of the level, the Kongs must jump into a nearby barrel and shoot to a high ledge. There, they will have to continue east and cling onto some chains. After they get over the large abyss below with these hooks, the heroes should hop into a barrel and shoot to a small area with a tire. Bouncing off of this tire will take them to a high ledge. Once up the ledge, they must drop down a smaller ledge and throw a Steel Keg to defeat all the enemies down the path. When the Kongs continue through the level, they will need to grab onto a chain, jumping off to collect the letter O. Back on the ground, they should walk a little farther to encounter a barrel. It will blast them to an area with another barrel. This barrel will shoot them to the following barrel, which will then blast them to the Continue Point.
Halfway through the level, the group must use three more barrels to shoot over a wide abyss. On the other side, they will need to keep going east, beating all the enemies in their path. These foes include Gnawties and Kritters. Eventually, they will come up to the letter N and have travel along the area, using chains to help them cross a few pits. After the second chain, the heroes must land in yet another barrel and shoot to the letter G. From there, they should jump across a small platform and find a portal. Once they hop into it, they will be taken to the next level.
Enemies
Bonus Area(s)
- When the heroes jump off a chain to reach the letter O, they should turn around and get back on the chain. If they climb down it, they will end near a barrel. They must jump into it to begin the Bonus Area, where they will have to cartwheel-jump to grab two Kong Tokens and also quickly grab an Extra Life Balloon. Once this is done, they should exit by using a nearby barrel.
- When the Kongs find the letter N, they should look down to find a barrel. Jumping into it will take them to the Bonus Area, where they must maneuver around a few Mincers to grab bananas and Kong Tokens. Once everything is collected, the Kongs must exit the level by traveling to the left.
K-O-N-G Letters
- K: West of the start of the level.
- O: Found while jumping on chains.
- N: On a support beam, found while going through the level normally.
- G: Above a Zinger, between two balloons.

Trivia
- Although called "Balloon Barrage", the level features no balloons, except for one in a bonus stage. However, another level, known as "Construction Site Fight", is filled with many balloons. Just as the name "Balloon Barrage" would fit better with the other level, Construction Site Fight, "Construction Site Fight" would be best named as "Balloon Barrage". Therefore, it is very likely that a mistake in the game's manual was made, switching the levels' names by accident. This mistake was not addressed in the digital manual for the 3DS Virtual Console version.
