110m Hurdles is an Athletics Event that appears in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The aim of the Event is to reach the finish line in the fastest time by jumping over the hurdles, however in this version the player must remember the correct buttons to press to be able to jump over them. The event has a starting world record of 12.87 and a starting Olympic record of 12.91.

GameplayEdit

At the start of the event, the player is shown the hurdles track with a single A, B, Y, or X button above each of the first five hurdles and two buttons over the last one. The player must remember these buttons as they are shown them. Their character will then start running and the player must press the correct button to be able to jump over the hurdle. The closer they press the button to each hurdle, the greater their speed boost will be when their character lands the jump. Red, orange and yellow stripes on the ground indicate how close they are to the hurdle and help deciding when to press the button, with each color corresponding to a rating for the jump- Good for yellow, Great for orange and Perfect for red. If the player presses the button too late, presses the wrong button or fails to press any button at all, they will get a Bad rating and their character will trip over the hurdle and be slowed down. For the last hurdle, the player must press both buttons simultaneously, and doing so with perfect timing will give them a greater speed boost before the finish.

ControlsEdit
