The Thumbtack (known as a Drawing Pin in the British English version) is a Thing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is found behind the Secret Door in Warm Fuzzy Plains, and remains in Mario's Album until it is turned into a sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original location. It can also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 130 coins.

As a sticker, the Thumbtack takes up 1.5×1.5 squares in Mario's album. If used in a battle, the enemies freeze while multicolored thumbtacks pin them down. In addition to dealing a fair amount of damage, the thumbtack also prevents the enemies from attacking for a couple of turns, similar to the Stapler and Tape.

The thumbtack can also be placed into the Sticker Museum as #54, alongside similar Things. Its description mentions its practical use, while its museum description points out the unwillingness of Toads to use thumbtacks.

The thumbtack comes in handy during the first phase of the Bowser battle in Bowser's Sky Castle. It can be used in addition to the Stapler or Tape to keep the doors in the background closed, preventing Bowser from summoning any new enemies.
