Category in Template form

Remember back in the day, when there were templates for birds, fire creatures, ice creatures, et cetera? They were all deleted for being "categories in template form," as well as simply being overly-inclusive with the subjects, resulting in them becoming potentially infinitely large extremely quick. I thought it was fine, I'd much prefer an organized template to an alphabetical category (looks cooler, too). I probably forgot about that line in MarioWiki:Navigation templates, though. So many policies to remember...

Honestly I am for keeping it as there is not a Ghost category, as there is only Category:Undead which is all dead-but-not-dead beings including ghosts so I do personally think that this template is a better way to sort ghosts then just a category as it is better organized, and currently the template is still a reasonable size, compared to other templates such as {{Super Mario games}}. Additionally, Category:Undead goes into further sub-categories. Dry Bones, for example, is not in the template but is in the category. 13:23, 28 January 2019 (EST)

You're missing my point. Undead will probably be moved to supernatural, with Ghosts becoming a subcategory of that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:24, 28 January 2019 (EST)

I think there should be two options regarding this template: delete it, or repurpose it to only include the Luigi's Mansion ghosts. And as of now, I'm leaning towards the former. ^(T|C) 18:03, 28 January 2019 (EST)

I prefer the former, as the Luigi's Mansion ghosts could be considered a species of sorts such as with {{Goombas}}, and while they technically fall under categories as templates this is not as much the case as with the previous all ghosts in general template. As this template has already been retitled Luigi's Mansion ghosts, I will go ahead and move this template to that name. Doomhiker (talk) 18:49, 28 January 2019 (EST)
