Talk:Roy Koopa

From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia

Hmmm... someone moved "Roy" (the Fire Emblem character) to "Roy (SSBM), and "Roy" became a redirect here. Shouldn't "Roy" be a disambiguation page? Ruby Star TTYD.png CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png

The TAoSMB3 section says that he was given a "Brooklyn accent". First, only foreign speakers of a language can have "accents", and second, do boroughs have dialects? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:06, 3 April 2008 (EDT)

I thought he was the third oldest. Is he the oldest in the cartoons or something? Lemmy Koopa Fan (talk)

Well it is said he the eldest in the writers bible only on the fake cartoon scripts I heard at Lemmy's Land show him not being the eldest as that was taken by again Ludwig von Koopa. Toonpatrolfav003 (talk)

Roy's size in NSMBWii[edit]

Got a question about how the wiki article is saying that he's smaller than both Morton and Ludwig.

I've been watching the "Intro" clip again and again (which, for right now, is the only means we have to compare the sizes of the Koopalings). By my eyes, and with the evidence provided below, I believe he's not smaller than either of the two.

In this picture, we get a good idea of what the Koopalings look like, fully extended. From this perspective, Morton and Roy seem to be about the same size (Morton may be a bit wider, but that's about it), and both seem to be taller than Ludwig.

Where-as, in this one, the main thing seems to be that, since Roy seems to be doing a sort of leaning over/mugging pose (as compared to the others doing the "Surprise!!!!" pose), he may seem shorter. But that can't be the case. He's just leaning over, at that moment.

Can someone tell me where exactly it was rumored that Roy Koopa bullies Iggy Koopa frequently? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 07:53, 16 September 2012 (EDT)

Not saying definitively, because I'm not positive, but Roy was known as Bully Koopa in the TV show? Did it happen there? I never watched the show so I have no idea. I have a quick question, is Roy Transgendered? Transgendered? I mean in the strictest dictionary definition I ask because no one ever seems to agree on Roy's Gender. The name is Roy, the style is feminine, the voice is more masculine. Without going to far down the of specific gender identity Roy seems Transgendered.Despyria (talk) 01:18, 3 July 2014 (EDT)
I've never heard anyone try to say Roy was anything other than a typical cisgender male, with his pink head and originally pink shell merely being a "pink is a manly colour" gag. Anyway, to my knowledge, there's absolutely nothing in the games or supplementary material that suggests he's transgender, so we're certainly not going to bring it up on the article or anything. - Walkazo 01:33, 3 July 2014 (EDT)

Hello. I have a question regarding Roy's glasses. The trivia section says that Roy's eyes are shown in Bowser Jr.'s trailer in Smash Bros, but exactly when are they shown? I watched that trailer many times, and.I never noticed, unless I need to pay close attention or something...

Doesn't say so in the article. You also need to provide links to your userpage in your signature, not just your name. Viper26.pngViper26 logo.png (talk · edits)

The 30th anniversary books' bios of Roy Koopa[edit]

Last but not least, here are the bios of Roy Koopa from the 30th anniversary books, where he's known as 「ロイ」:

Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. 3 enemies section
Boss of World 5. Attacks with magic. Causes an earthquake every time he jumps.

Super Mario World enemies section
Boss of the Forest of Illusion. Same as Morton, but the room becomes narrower each time he attacks.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii enemies section
Boss of World 2. Moves using Warp Pipes, stunning [again, probably it's blocking all movements] when he lands.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 enemies section

New Super Mario Bros. U enemies section

The Super Mario World and the Super Mario Memorial Book citations are the most problematic, but as always, an help on he translations as a whole would be nice, sionce they are mainly based on online translators.--Mister Wu (talk) 21:34, 15 April 2016 (EDT)

Is Dan Falcone still the voice of Roy?[edit]

Mike Vaughn and Lani Minella did not provide the voice clips used in Mario Kart 8. We thought Mike and Lani did, but was Dan Falcone the voice of Roy in Mario Kart 8?
