Music[edit]

I can't hear any similarities between the music for this course and Bowser's battle theme in Super Mario 64. Torey (talk) 00:47, 23 February 2018 (EST)

Rename Bowser Castle 1 (GBA) to Bowser's Castle 1[edit]

In the latest game this track appears in, Mario Kart Tour, it is now referred to as Bowser's Castle and not Bowser Castle. If we were to change this page to Bowser's Castle 1, then we could remove the redirect. In addition, the SNES appearance of Bowser Castle 1 could have the (SNES) removed from the end

Support[edit]

  1. SwampyGator (talk) It's how it appears in the latest game, but see above for specific explanation.

Oppose[edit]

  1. LinkTheLefty (talk) Technically, the new title is GBA Bowser's Castle 1, but regardless, this would be inconsistent with GBA Bowser Castle 2/3/4 courses. There's also the risk that, since the game is constantly updating, a future version will revert to the Bowser Castle 1 name (you can read other minor name changes here).
  2. Bye Guy (talk) Per LinkTheLefty.

Comments[edit]

I have an idea. If all the GBA Bowser Castles return in Mario Kart Tour with the new Bowser's Castle name, then you can change the name to reflect this. Otherwise, keep it with the original name.--24.44.76.88 19:19, July 31, 2020 (EDT)

Renaming the Bowser's Castles: Take 2[edit]

With GBA Bowser's Castle 1 and GBA Bowser's Castle 2 becoming the new names for the courses in Mario Kart Tour, and with these courses having the same name for so many tours already without being changed like Tokyo Blur, I think its safe to say these 2 GBA Bowser's Castle courses should be renamed.

Support[edit]

  1. WildWario (talk) Per my explanation and Trainax's proposal.
  2. Scrooge200 (talk) Most recent in-game name. Additionally, "Bowser's Castle" is used more often than "Bowser Castle" nowadays (Origami King, Mario + Rabbids, Yoshi's Woolly World).
  3. Hewer (talk) A more recent name is better as per the naming policy. Per all.
  4. Somethingone (talk) If it’s more recent, then yea. Per proposal.

Oppose[edit]

  1. Tails777 (talk) I feel they're fine the way they are. Besides, Koopa Beach 2 is still named as such instead of being named Koopa Troopa Beach 2. Similarly, when Mario Kart 7 released, Koopa Troopa Beach wasn't renamed Koopa Beach, despite being named as such at the time (though now it's kinda irrelevant, since it's back to its original name). Plus, as LinkTheLefty mentioned previously, the game is still updating and, while I agree it's unlikely at this point, the name could still change at any point. And finally, as also previously mentioned, it is more consistent with the other two tracks that haven't returned. If the other two happen to return with the same name changing, I'd likely support the idea more.
  2. 7feetunder (talk) Per Tails777.
  3. DannyTheDingo (talk) Per Tails777. Both already address the naming discrepancy in their Mario Kart Tour sections.

Comments[edit]

I feel it's worth mentioning that, if we go with the most recent names, both Koopa Beach 2 and Trick will also have to be renamed, as neither are going by their most current name either. Tricks are called Jump Boosts in Tour, as is Koopa Beach 2 being named Koopa Troopa Beach 2. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. I agree with you on Koopa Beach 2, but Trick I think can stay. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 08:36, September 28, 2021 (EDT)

I don't follow your logic. Trick should be left alone, but the tracks should be moved? How does that make sense? If anything that's worse - moving Trick doesn't create any glaring inconsistencies like moving the tracks does. Dark BonesSig.png 21:08, September 28, 2021 (EDT)
I agree with 7feetunder. If we want to really follow the recent name idea, Trick shouldn’t get a special pass. In my personal opinion, retaining the name helps distinguish it from other Bowser’s Castle articles while also following the more consistent naming from more traditional MK games (which, from DS to 7, still used the Bowser Castle name). The same can be said for Koopa Beach, which has further reasoning as to not mix it up with N64 Koopa Troopa Beach. I’ll admit that the abbreviation does help avoid the confusion between tracks, but something still doesn’t feel right by having Koopa Beach 1, N64 Koopa Troopa Beach and a mixed SNES Koopa Troopa Beach 2. If all three topics got a name change, they’d be consistent with the most recent name idea, but my opinion still lies on leaving the track names as is. If this passes, there definitely needs to be a follow-up discussion regarding KB2 and Trick due to the blatant inconsistency this creates. Dark BonesSig.png 18:29, October 3, 2021 (EDT)

Turbo Yoshi is another example, as technically, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit calls it the Super Yoshi. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Robin's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Turbo Yoshi is probably going to be the most messy one, as right now, Mario Kart Tour still calls it the Turbo Yoshi, alongside its variants. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 20:14, October 4, 2021
