Just wondering, is this a problem with Chris Pratt's page in particular or do other pages also often enough go into people's lives? It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 02:54, April 1, 2023 (EDT)

Unsure how I feel about it or what sort of preexisting rulebook we have for this. I checked the Shigeru Miyamoto article and his biography is only two paragraphs of pre-Nintendo life events and he's probably arguably the most important Mario-related real person besides Charles Martinet (who has no non-Mario biography content on his article). Like the Super Smash Bros articles debacle, I think we're just fluffing actor articles by including this unrelated stuff. Like, we're not gonna go into depth over Sheik's Zelda series history, but sure we'll touch up on her game origin and identity/purpose in said game merely to provide context of who and what we're talking about. Little excerpts of actor's past work (say Chris Pratt, Charlie Day etc) are fine to familiarize yourself with their previous ventures and contextualize who they are, but going into depth further than that is better suited to stay on Wikipedia. True, as you said, it's probably best to have a brief resume of his experience and whatnot. I do think the early life stuff is a lot of irrelevant information best suited for Wikipedia. I do think we should trim that stuff down a bit. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 04:17, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
