Pipe interior

It has been requested that this article be deleted. Reason: Poorly written article about an arbitrary, semi-redundant concept. Similar “Pipe Rooms” already exist in various other games in this franchise. (Such as SMB1, SPM, NSMBW, SM3DW, etc.) It thusly appears that this entire article is effectively about SMG’s iteration of the concept of “Bonus rooms”. It’s also very dubious whether the name of the titular music track should count as a “proper name” for this subject, seeing as the soundtrack has various inconsistencies from the names of the areas they play in. (Most notably “Good Egg Galaxy/Egg Planet.”)
If you do not feel this article should be deleted, please explain on its talk page.

This article is about pipe rooms in Super Mario Galaxy. For other uses, see Warp Zones.

A pipe interior.

Pipe interiors[1] are enclosed rooms in Super Mario Galaxy accessible via Warp Pipes and generally containing optional rewards. They are in many galaxies, usually containing ? Coins inside which create 1-Up Mushrooms or Music Notes. Others have enemies and require Rainbow Stars to defeat them, such as Ruby Rocks and prickly plants. The last kind houses many Brick Blocks, and is a climb up to the coin. The objective of this type is to break as little Brick Blocks as possible, as they will turn into Star Bits once the effect is on. Lamps can also be found in them.

The design of a pipe interior features multicolored bricks, some fallen off. Ruby Rocks create a circular trail on the floors and walls. The background is a swirling background that changes its colors.

Notes[edit]

  • Pipe interiors are placed above the skygrid, so they are impossible to enter. However, these floating boxes can still be seen in King Kaliente's Battle Fleet and the first two missions of Deep Dark Galaxy.[2]
