Section of the Month

The 'Shroom Spotlight

Shroom Spotlight Lakitu.png

Hey there 'Shroom racers, welcome to the 'Shroom Pit Stop...er...Spotlight! Before you hit the track and drive around the rest of our special issue, it's always a good idea to get your kart serviced and ready to handle any Green Shells that may come your way (trust us, there will be plenty). Need to change your oil or construct a better kart before racing off to our other articles? Our handy crew of Toad supervisors should be able to sort you out, but here in the 'Shroom Pit Stop, our specialty is repairing the wiki's articles until they're good enough to drive (but not really!)

Poll Chairperson Address

Mario4Ever

Greetings, everyone. I would like to thank the members of the community who participated in this year's election and supported me as chairperson of the fifth Poll Committee. As I said in my campaign, I've enjoyed serving on the previous two Poll Committees, so I will do my best to ensure that the Poll Committee continues to be an active aspect of the community. I am accepting membership applications from now until August 2nd.

Fake News

Editorial

Welcome back to another Mario Kart related special edition of the Fake News, this time concentrating on the recently released Mario Kart 8. I'm pretty busy at the moment so I can't really think of anything to ramble about in here.

Yoshi876 (talk) and his Obituaries were June's Section of the Month, with 18 votes. Ask Paper Yoshi came close, with 16 votes.

Fun Stuff

Director's Notes (Super Mario Bros. (talk))

Hey everybody! Welcome to Fun Stuff on this Special Edition of The 'Shroom. We have some extra things in stock this month, including a redesign of the Fun Stuff layout! I hope you enjoy everything this month. Congratulations to Marshal Dan Troop (talk), as his Trivia section won 25 votes (59.52%) for Section of the Month of June 2014! General bob-omb (talk) and his Hiding Koopa came in second place with 13 votes (30.95%) and Mario7 (talk) in third with his Picross section getting 4 votes (9.52%). Be sure to vote in this month's Section of the Month Poll!

I would also like to thank General bob-omb for his years of contributing to the Fun Stuff team. This month will be his last time writing for us as he has resigned from his position. His dedication and fun Koopa-related puzzles have helped make the Fun Stuff what it is today, and his effort has always been appreciated. We wish him the best in his future endeavors!

Interview

Superchao

Hello, 'Shroom readers! I haven't been doing this for a couple months, have I. But I'm back!

And this month, I'm interviewing one of the MarioWiki's bureaucrats, Walkazo! Normally I'd try to come up with something for the introduction but I'm a bit out of it right now. So, have the text.

Interview

Superchao: Hello, 'Shroom readers! I'm finally back, and here with one of MarioWiki's current Bureaucrats - Walkazo!
Walkazo: Yep.
Walkazo: Hello.
Superchao: So, I might as well start with that classic question I always ask everyone.
Superchao: How did you, personally, find the MarioWiki?
Walkazo: It's a long story.

Mario Calendar

Paper Yoshi

Well, hello everyone, and welcome to the July Issue of Mario Calendar! Unlike the last issue, I do have news on this section, but I'm afraid they're not actually so good…

You all should know about my personal problems by now, so I'll go straight to the point: as I have been intending to do for a while, I'm leaving my position as Mario Calendar writer. I wish I didn't need to go this far, but I wasn't given a different option following decisions of my own. I enjoyed every one of the previous 33 Mario Calendar sections I wrote for the paper, and I hope you did as well. Thanks for all your support, guys, and for the five Section of the Month awards this section won during this time. I hope to, some day, come back to write this section, but that'll remain a dream for now. See you around, everyone!! I hope you all enjoy this last Mario Calendar written by me!!

Ninelevendo

Hi, welcome to The 'Shroom, Mario Kart: Wheel Tips Corner! Ninelevendo (talk) here, with this new, returning section of The 'Shroom. In this section, we'll consider tips and tricks for all kinds of Mario Kart games, from wheels to cups. Since the recent release of Mario Kart 8, I bet you're all trying to read this as quickly as possible so you can get back to the new game you just bought. Don't read too quickly, you might miss that winning tip you've needed. So, in this article, we'll consider a couple of kart combinations, some courses and a few characters. If you've got any suggestions or a tip you really want, don't hesitate to ask me. Now, on to the tips!

Retro Feature

Super Mario Bros.

Hello readers, welcome to a special edition of Retro Feature! This section was created by Henry Tucayo Clay (talk) in Special Issue 64. The purpose of Retro Feature, in Tucayo's own words, is to "allow new readers to better know the writers that have greatly contributed to The ‘Shroom" by discussing some of their contributions and showcasing one of their sections from a past issue. This is a piece for 'Shroom historians– for those who like understanding who made this project possible and how far it has come since its inception.

Disaster at the Race Track

YoshiKong and Yoshi876

Disaster has struck at Mario Circuit today as there was a massive first lap collision, which was caused by Pink Gold Peach. As per the recent Mario Kart rules, penalties were given to Pink Gold Peach and the race was red flagged by the organisers, though many spectators found this questionable due to the fact that every racer was either dead or critically injured. A tentative restart to the session is planned in roughly two months.

Super Fresh Paper Mario

Super-Yoshi

Oh shit son it's mothafucken TFP but you probably already knew that cause you clicked the link silly, but hold up we're gonna stop with the introductions right there cause I can't believe we made it this far it's fucken round 4 and we're gonna go live from the suburbs of wherever you are cause this review is gonna be the most fresh you've ever seen (awwww sheit). Today we're gonna be looking at the first 3D game which is in 2D and somehow they made its 2.5D and made out of paper. I dunno man this shit looks complicated, Mario gains the ability to flip shit. Okay maybe it's not that complicated, but shit son I'd pay to see someone flip from 2D to 3D and back again, that shit ain't even a magic trick.

Mario Circuit Report

Lakituthequick

Hey there readers of The 'Shroom. It is I again, Lakituthequick.

You may know from earlier editions of The 'Shroom where I was a Guest Writer, I like to produce 3D-images. However, with the overall theme of Mario Kart 8 on this edition, I liked to do something different.

Evolutionary Taxonomy of the Koopas

Walkazo

A couple years ago, I wrote a guest section for The 'Shroom called "Theoretical Macroevolution of Koopas", in which I discussed how the Koopas totally evolved from some sort of Tyrannosaurus-like dinosaur, and not turtles like everyone thinks. Don't believe me? Read the article - and prepared to eat your words. Anyway, in that article, I said I wouldn't go into an analysis of the diversity within the Koopa family tree, as that would involve a lot of nitty-gritty details that might bore and/or scare people off. Well, now that I've talked about the roots, there's really nowhere else for me to go but the inner working of the family tree.

Closing Statement

Hello, 'Shroom readers! Hope you liked the special issue, because I did - except for the part with all the putting it together. Either way, I need sleep. Hopefully I'll have a proper closing statement up soon enough!
