This article is about the Bomb in the Nintendo Comics System. For information about the Star Fox item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, see Smart Bomb (SSB item).

Smart Bombs are red colored explosive created by the Koopa Troop that were featured in the Nintendo Comics System issue, "Duh Stoopid Bomb!".

The Smart Bombs are actually more chemical weapons then simple explosives, releasing an intelligence rising gas when they detonate.

It is unknown why Bowser commissioned the creation of Smart Bombs, though he may have done it in order to counteract the effects of the stupifeing Stupid Bombs incase they backfired on the Koopa Troop. It seems Smart Bombs may actually have been as bad an idea as Stupid Bombs though, as when a Snifit accidentally breathed in the fumes of one, he became super-intelligent and usurped Bowser as king.

The production of Smart Bombs was seemingly ceased, as aside from "Duh Stoopid Bomb!", they made no other appearances in any issues of Nintendo Comics System.
