Template:Minigame-infobox Settle It in Court is a Duel minigame (and a single-player minigame in Test for the Best) in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Let's settle it in court", which traditionally refers to a judicial court rather than a basketball one. This minigame is similar in concept to that of Three Throw from Mario Party 4.

Introduction

The player will be in a basketball court, among a Shy Guy and many Goombas. The Shy Guy will throw the player a basketball, and he or she shoots it. The game begins after that.

Gameplay

The Shy Guy will be throwing balls from the side, and there will be a meter at the top of the screen, with a basketball going from right to left across it, one at a time.

When the ball icon reaches the yellow marker at the center, the player must swing the Wii Remote forward, to make the shot. Occasionally, a Goomba icon will slide across. When it reaches the marker, the player must press the A Button or B Button button and swing, and the Goomba will give the player an assist. The speed the icon goes across varies. The minigame ends when the timer runs out. Whoever has the most baskets after thirty seconds is declared the winner.

Ending

The player will do the victory dance, as well as the Shy Guy and the Goombas, which will be jumping.
