Lava or Leave 'Em is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Love 'em or leave 'em."

Introduction

The introduction to Lava or Leave 'Em

The players are walking through a field when a volcano in the background erupts. To avoid being burned, the players jump onto a nearby rock, and the lava soon goes around it. A Lava Bubble gets on the rock, and the game starts.

Gameplay

The player uses +Control Pad to run around and Two Button to jump. The players must avoid the Lava Bubble moving around on the rock. As the minigame progresses, the Lava Bubble splits into two smaller Lava Bubbles, which likewise split later, and the process continues. Players can jump on their opponents to stun them temporarily. To win, a player must avoid being hit by the Lava Bubbles or falling off the rock either until time runs out or until all of the other players have been eliminated. If all remaining players are eliminated at the same time, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending
