HistoryEdit

DIC cartoonsEdit

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!Edit

The Eiffel Tower is first briefly seen in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! live-action segment "French".

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3Edit

The Eiffel Tower later appears in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "Super Koopa". Bowser, through the use of a Power Pendant, becomes Raccoon Koopa, allowing him to fly to the Eiffel Tower with Princess Toadstool, where he ties the princess up.

Toad later arrives at the Eiffel Tower to save Princess Toadstool, so that she can assist Mario and Luigi as they fight against Bowser. Throughout the rest of the episode, the Eiffel Tower can be seen in the background.

Mario is Missing!Edit

“The tower that has come to symbolize Paris was designed by Gustave Eiffel, an engineer. The tower was built for the World's Fair of 1889. It is 1050 feet high and built entirely of steel. 2.5 million rivets hold it together. The Eiffel Tower has its own post office, and letters posted there will bear its impressive postmark. Once the tallest building in the world, it is now dwarfed by the Empire State Building and Chicago's Sears Tower.”
Pamphlet, Mario is Missing!

The Eiffel Tower appears in all versions of Mario is Missing!, marking its first appearance in a Super Mario game. Alongside the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and (in the PC versions) the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower was one of the landmarks visited by Luigi when he came to save Paris from invading Koopa Troopas.

Unlike in real life, there was a French flag at the top of the tower, the Tricolor, which was stolen by Koopas. Luigi had to find and return it, for which he was rewarded a regular prize of 1,400 dollars, plus a 2,000 dollar bonus if he returns it first.

Mario Kart seriesEdit

Mario Kart TourEdit

In Mario Kart Tour, the Eiffel Tower appears on the city course Paris Promenade. In the first two routes of the course, players pass underneath it. There are stalls set up at each corner of it, including a confectioner's, a drink stand, and a ticket booth.

The Eiffel Tower was used as the landmark of the 2019 Paris Tour, the Valentine's Tour and the 2021 Paris Tour, appearing in the background of the menus. It is also depicted on two badges.

Mario Kart 8 DeluxeEdit

The Eiffel Tower returns in Paris Promenade in the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Racers have the option to pass under it like in Mario Kart Tour's Paris Promenade 1 and 2, though they may also turn left before doing so like in Paris Promenade 3.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of HopeEdit

A drawing of the Eiffel Tower can be seen in the backdrop of Alkementor's set in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope next to a drawing of the Milan Cathedral, referencing the main developers of the game (Ubisoft Paris and Ubisoft Milan respectively).
