Chocolate Island is a mountainous island located in the southeastern part of Dinosaur Land in the game Super Mario World. The island is named after its chocolate-brown coloring. Instead of lava, some levels have boiling hot mud. This is the only known island to be a habitat for the Dino Rhinos and Dino-Torches.

The Boss of Chocolate Island is Wendy O. Koopa.

Part of Chocolate Island is featured in half of the Mario Kart series. Choco Mountain from Mario Kart 64 and later Mario Kart DS might be part of Chocolate Island. Also, in Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Super Circuit, there are two courses called Choco Island 1 and Choco Island 2 respectively. In Mario Kart DS, Choco Island 2 returned as a retro track.

Levels

Except for Chocolate Secret, which is located underground near the Valley of Bowser and is accessible via Warp Pipe, all these levels are found on Chocolate Island.

Trivia

  • In Super Mario World, if players haven't beaten Chocolate Island 2, there's a half of a mountain. After Chocolate Island 2, this island goes away to make room for the path to Chocolate Island 3.
  • Chocolate Island will turn green upon activating Autumn mode.
  • The Japanese name is a pun on "チョコレート" (chokorēto, chocolate) and "島" (tō, island).
