Template:Worldbox Big Ape City is the name of the final area ventured through in the classic Game Boy game, Donkey Kong Land. The name "Big Ape City" is pun of "The Big Apple", a nickname for New York City.

While the other worlds in the game take place on Donkey Kong Island, this world is reached via zeppelin and takes place within Big-City. Along with having several high rise buildings and construction sites, the zeppelin also remains in Big Ape City, and it is where King K. Rool is ultimately fought.

Trivia

  • The first actual world of Donkey Kong '94 was called Big-City, and is most likely the same location. A snippet the manual says: "Travel by zeppelin to Donkey Kong's favorite stomping ground, Big City. The sight of that familiar skyline might bring back fond memories, but don't waste your time sightseeing when there are Kremlings around!" The strategy review in Nintendo Power further states this with a screenshot caption stating "Cranky used to roll barrels at a plumber in the construction site here." The construction site stages are likely a direct homage to the the original Donkey Kong arcade game.
