World 2-Tower is the fifth level and the tower of World 2 in New Super Mario Bros. The boss in this level is Bowser Jr.

Layout[edit]

This level is a tower level that contains many rotating platforms. At the beginning of the level, the player must jump to the first rotating platform, and then onto the second one. Above the second platform reside three ? Blocks, one of which contains a power-up. The player must then jump to the rotating platform located above the three ? Blocks. To the player's right is a Dry Bones that may walk onto the rotating platform. The player must then jump to the left, where another Dry Bones is located. Above the Dry Bones is a rope that the player must climb across to reach a slightly higher platform. Up even higher, another rotating platform can be found. If the player jumps to the left, they will land on a shallow cliff. From there, the player can repeatedly Wall Jump their way up to a door. Behind the door, there is a cluster of gold blocks in the shape of an "n". The player must then Wall Jump within the bricks constantly as it rolls along the wire track. At the top, the player must drop out of the blocks, quickly jump up the platforms, and land on top of the blocks. The player can then jump to a new platform, where the first Star Coin can be found. The player must repeat the aforementioned process in the second block structure in order to access another door. The player will then drop back into the main area through the door.

If the player does not take the door's path, they can climb along a rope, where they can find a Red Ring along the way. Past the Red Ring, a spring can be found. Using the springboard, the player can access the green Warp Pipe that is directly above it. In the next area, the midway point is activated directly before a ? Block. As the player jumps across several rotating blocks, they will encounter two Dry Bones directly beneath a red pipe. On the other end of the red pipe is a door that leads to Bowser Jr. The battle with Bowser Jr. is the same as the previous one, although there is quicksand below the platform that Mario and Bowser Jr. fight on.

Star Coins[edit]

  • Star Coin 1 - After the first rope, Mario can find another rotating platform. He should jump over the formation of blocks to the right of the platform. This will lead Mario to the first Star Coin, which is located at the bottom right corner of the area, past the next rotating platform.
  • Star Coin 2 - After the first rope, Mario can find another rotating platform. If Mario Wall Jumps to the left of the platform, he will reach a door. Behind the door are two golden block formations in the shape of an "n". To obtain the Star Coin, Mario should continually Wall Jump inside the blocks. When the platform reaches solid ground, Mario should jump on top of the formation and collect the second Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3 - Before taking the red pipe that leads to the boss door, Mario should Wall Jump off the left side of the wall and the red Warp Pipe to hit a red switch, which will cause three platforms to appear. Using these three platforms, Mario can collect the last Star Coin.
