Washington, D.C. is the capital city of the United States of America. Many famous and important buildings are located in the city, including the White House and the Washington Monument.

Washington, D.C. was featured in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "Reptiles in the Rose Garden". Because Bowser wanted to take over America for Kootie Pie, he had to fly to Washington on the Doomship, and warp the White House to Dark Land.

While the White House was gone, Kootie Pie ruled as "Empress of America", and announced her "new laws". Eventually, Mario returned the White House to Washington, and warped Kootie Pie home.

Although Washington continues to deal with foreign affairs, the Koopas haven't returned to the city ever since.

Some members of the Kong Family traveled to Washington in the Club Nintendo comic "Donkey Kong in: Banana Day 24" in order to talk to the President.
