Categorizing Images

User talk:L151#Idea to Fix Files with Missing Game Image Category - Read this first. Replies she made are on my talk page (not that much TBH). We need help! Over the years of MarioWiki existing, it seems that there are many images missing a game category they belong to. Interested in fixing? If so, don't do anything yet. We need to synchronize our efforts so that way we don't end up wasting time. Clone Category

Recently on the Baby Luigi page I put the cloned category, I put it there because in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time all four playable characters get cloned under the effects of the Copy Flower not because I think he's a clone of Luigi. (which I don't) Fawful's Minion (talk)

Work, work, and more work

I'm vaguely lucky in that I clocked out of math and science the second I left high school, but I exchanged that for piles upon piles of essays. I never realized how many classes want you to write 1000 words on random topics until I ended up with all but one of my classes asking me for an essay at the same time. I actually sat down with someone to figure out when and where I'd need to dedicate time for work, and we saw that I didn't have enough time for everything. Also, that's only for school. If my past track record of going to bed after midnight every single day is any indication, sleep is indeed for the weak and I'm really weak. Can't I just call Luigi or someone to vacuum up the ghosts (read: problems) over my head? Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Hold On A Second

I did sense some tension between us. The idea of the proposal is that if it passes, the images currently tagged with {{image-quality}} will be reviewed and see their tag potentially changed to send the image into a different category rather than removed and forget about the image. In order for that to happen, I suggest we suspend any new tagging and keep the previously tagged images tagged (unless a better image is supplied that prompts its removal). The tag is causing some issues now that never used to happen. That way you don't have to worry about the category seeing increased bloat and I don't have to see work that needs to be done be forgotten. In all fairness, I do see myself tagging for ridiculous reasons in some cases. I guess our gut feelings got the better of us. I also thought of another tag idea related to quality but it deals with more of getting a specific image rather than "asking for higher quality". I mean the quality meets standards but the image doesn't satisfy a very particular condition. Images like these:

he was blocked several times. He didn't improve his acts even after his multiple bans. He was generally being more trouble than it is worth to keep him and the permanent ban is final. Honestly, you have to really try to get banned here so his final ban is deserved. And judging his forum posts I don't think his behavior changed that much. Wow... that's cool. By the way, here's another question I have in mind: some Chinese people say "north/south/east/west" while some say "up/down/left/right" when looking at a map. I personally belong to the latter group but sometimes "up" and "down" can be ambiguous in a 3D game so I generally use "north" and "south" on this wiki. Do you Westerners recognize "north/south/east/west" as being "up/down/left/right" when looking from the sky to the ground in a 3D game? I'm asking because I'm going to describe the scenes in Paper Mario in greater detail but am not sure if the reader will recognize "north" as "back" and "south" as "close to the camera". I'm not exactly sure what you mean by replacing the moved sandbox. The tie is just a faster way to type "no quorum", it was never meant to have it as a separate parameter, just like the cancelled/canceled one. It's inaccurate I know, but it is faster to type.--

Well, the first I saw of Baby Luigi was in Mario Kart Wii. Did everyone first meet Baby Luigi in some Mario Kart game? Anyway, a long time ago, I saw that the staff ghost used for N64 Sherbet Land had a strange character that looks like Baby Mario but wears a green hat, so I figured that was a baby version of Luigi. I, too, prefer Luigi over Mario, because obviously the "lesser" brother is always better, and once I finally unlocked the character, he became my favorite, and the combination of the pride over unlocking him, his cuteness, voice and quotes, and the fact that he's Baby Luigi didn't help and he quickly became my most used character in the whole game, and for a while he was the only one I ever used until I started giving other characters my attention. It didn't help that it turned out he was tied for the best speed bonus in the game. Once I got my hands on Mario Kart: Double Dash (even with newer games, who could turn down controlling two characters at once?) and more recently 8, he easily became my most used character there as well. So, basically, I met him in Mario Kart and couldn't stop using him for the longest time due to various things. Those qualities that made that happen still stick with me to this day, even if his voice changes every time he appears in a Mario Kart game. It also doesn't help that my favorite colors are blue and green, or was that BECAUSE of Baby Luigi...? BabyLuigi64

Well, by the time I started playing video games, the Wii was already out. I certainly could have owned a GameCube and/or GBA, but I just never did. As for Partners in Time, the first game I can remember playing was Pokemon Diamond, which means it was already a few years after its first release and I guess I never got to it. I got to play Mario Super Sluggers once because my cousins had it, but for whatever reason I never got it myself. Well for me, I just feel like he isn't relevant compared to Baby Mario, though it is Baby Luigi, so that treatment is inevitable... But, seeing Baby Mario appear in Mario Tennis 64, GBC, and Open, as well as Mario Kart Arcade GP DX without his brother, and seeing him as the equivalent to Peach in an entire series even when Baby Peach is a playable character in one game rendering him as the one non-playable baby, that just hurts. About {{ProposalOutcome}}

So I added an option for proposals that didn't reach consensus (proposals that had no majority after 3 extents). As far as I know, only Talk:Door has a proposal of that sort. It's colored red in that page, but I feel that it is an incorrect color. Green means that the proposed idea was accepted, Red means that the proposed idea was declined. Gray means that no conclusion was reached. That's why I put it as gray. I think that vetoed by admins should be a different color though (perhaps blue), because it's not really a no conclusion, but rather something fundamentally wrong about the proposal. So whaddya say?--

I did a few, but sadly right now, I don't have enough time. I'm in the middle of my finals. If you want you can continue what I did, I just made the same changes to all the templates and omitted the size parameter if the image is already small enough. Re: Boss/Mini-Boss

Hey Baby Luigi, I did that revision on the Partners in Time article, the reason being is because normal bosses (let's say Swiggler or Sunnycide) are all fought at the end of one full area, others (like Kamek or Mrs. Thwomp) are battled halfway bit like Fortresses in the main-series. Also the main-bosses have a mini-gimmick to them like Swiggler and Sunnycide have high defense, Petey Piranha limits what you can use on him depending on his state flying or in sand. Are you going to archive it? Once it's passed you need to move it to the archives. I could do it for you the first time, so you know what to do.

My understanding was that the proposals should be actioned before being archived (unless they involve editing dozens of pages or whatever - in this case, it involves just one page, but it is a locked page I can't edit). Excellent News!

I was successfully able to use Homebrew Launcher using browserhax on 3DS and submit clean PNGs of a 3DS game (File:Mario SM3DL2.png and File:SM3DL 2-2.png)! It claims to run on latest firmware (11.0.0-33)! --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) ^{(Stats - Contribs)} 03:11, 28 July 2016 (EDT)

Oops! Forgot to mention where I learned the news. here and here. I know! I have been wanting to replace Miiverse screenshots with clean PNGs as well for a while now, just without the intrusive mod way that requires taking apart a 3DS. Homebrew is much more convenient this way. If you have been meaning to buy the game, get it now, preferably the cartridge version because Nintendo has less control over that. The eShop version may get taken down. Nintendo has been known to remove exploitable games from the eShop. 3DS Firmware Update

There is a glimmer of hope. Try setting up steelhax. I think that the Nintendo eShop blocks older firmwares so you are going to need to use this tutorial. It's a free game. I didn't need to use ctr-httpwn because I already had the game downloaded for years. All I needed to do was delete Steel Diver data that wasn't software data. The rest was easy, but it takes a few tries to get the installer to succeed in causing corruption in the save data to launch homebrew. Just like stickerhax, that was another game I was willing to part with, even more so than Paper Mario: Sticker Star. According to this page, stickerhax and steelhax work on 11.1.0-34. OK, after getting over possibly losing homebrew, I can say that it is safe to update to 11.1.0-34. Before you do, make sure you have steelhax working on 11.0.0-33 or below. That's important. After updating, you need to overwrite the payload on the root of the SD card with a version compatible with 11.1.0-34, which if you scroll down this page to a bunch of drop-down boxes, fill them out, and click otherapp, you can get it updated manually. When you install hacks such as stickerhax or oot3dhax, it downloads the appropriate payload for you. Without updating the payload, the handheld will give you an error message instead of loading homebrew. Then you will need to redo any other exploits you setup. I had to redo stickerhax. Everybody gets that prompt. I have been getting that prompt daily but kept declining, until today. Knowing Nintendo, 11.1.0-34 or later might be pushed. Several Wii titles had the update files for the Wii firmware on disk. Anyways, if you updated the firmware before making sure you can run exploits before updating, you might be screwed for a little while. The latest firmware is still 11.1.0-34 as I just updated hours ago. Learned that exploits need maintenance sometimes when a firmware update occurs. I think the payload gets stored onto the 3DS game card itself while downloads might be reliant on the SD card. The exploit steelhax is very easy to update the payload compared to others because the payload is stored on the SD card so you might not be completely in the hole, as long as steelhax was working before you updated. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) ^{(Stats - Contribs)} 01:41, 1 October 2016 (EDT)

Okay, I've deleted the revision warring. What remain are revisions which containing valid improvements. This image has the latest revision logged as a reversion, with a reason that no longer makes sense when looking at the remaining revisions. But the latest revision cannot be deleted. Fun fact, that image used to have a lot more warring reuploads. Assuming each revision was about 2.5 megabites, that's a huge 50 mb worth of useless revisions.

PIT Enemy List

A list very similar to that was removed on December of last year on the Bowser's Inside Story page. It's just an incomplete version of the bestiary there are some reasons too

1. It only lists the enemies' HP and the EXP and Coins for Winning the fight.
2. Some enemies such as Yoob Egg the Elder Princess Shroob'S body parts are missed.

Mini-Bosses (Again)

I'm not trying to sound whinny nor do I want to make you mad but Mini Bosses are normally fought at the middle of the section the main bosses are fought at the ends of each area and are guarding a cobalt star shard and have gimmicks the player needs to master. Also the first Baby Bowser fight has his as just a generic enemy due to the nature of the fight and the music. Mini Bosses are a thing you know you also removed Yoob Egg too what was wrong with that one? Especially in the Junior Shrooboid's case because he's so pathetically weak.
