<< List of worlds >>

World 2 in New Super Mario Bros. is a massive desert world, just as Desert Land is in Super Mario Bros. 3. The player crosses this hot desert on their adventure. This is the second time Bowser Jr. is fought in the game. The world's boss, Mummipokey, is located at the end of the desert, which is the castle. If the player defeats Mummipokey, they would go to World 3; however, if Mini Mario or Mini Luigi defeats Mummipokey, they would go to World 4, one of the alternate worlds in the game. The player could also gain access to World 5 through this world, if they were to use the cannon to shoot themselves to the snowy world. This world introduced a total of fifteen enemies that are new to the game.
