Announcement (December 29, 2013)

The reason I have not been on the Super Mario Wiki for so long is that my computer broke in November, I joined Nookipedia, and I feel that the hard work I did for the Super Mario Wiki over the summer was not valued enough. I will no longer be editing for the Super Mario Wiki nor will I be editing for Nookipedia anymore. I would edit more if the users of the Super Mario Wiki would focus more on what is contributed by a user, instead of how much a user contributes. MarioKartManiac Synopsis

Hello! I am MarioKartManiac! I joined the Super Mario Wiki back on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Before I was MarioKartManiac, I was Driver104. I changed my name to MarioKartManiac on Monday, May 27, 2013. During the 2012 Christmas season, I was becoming a big Mario fan, so I wanted to learn a lot more about Mario Kart since I was getting Mario Kart: Super Circuit that year. I found the Super Mario Wiki, and I used it very often. I decided I should join a few months later just to fix any minor mistakes I found on the site. When I joined, I never knew I would make new articles, or even have a friend to talk to. These past few months, I have enjoyed being a part of the Super Mario Wiki and I will continue to be an active user on this website for as long as possible.

Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions (Narrowed Down)

Hello guys! It's time to take a break of Youtube and it's time to show you what Mario Kart retro tracks I think will make it to Mario Kart 8! I have heard that their will be 5 retro cups, but I am not sure of the name of the new cup. I am not sure if this is true yet, but I will put my Top 16 tracks in the Shell, Banana, Leaf, and Lightning Cups and the other 4 tracks in the Unknown Cup. I will be narrowing down my battle course chocies at a later time.

Before we begin, I'd like to show you the number of tracks I'll be using from each past Mario Kart game to organize the Mario Kart 8 retro cups.

SNES: 3 (8 of its 20 tracks have been used in previous Mario Kart games.)
N64: 1 (11 of its 16 tracks have been used in previous Mario Kart games.)
GBA: 4 (7 of its 20 tracks have been used in previous Mario Kart games.)
GCN: 2 (10 of its 16 tracks have been used in previous Mario Kart games.)
DS: 3 (8 of its 16 tracks have been used in previous Mario Kart games.)

I found it very clever to have 2 melodies today since the game has the number "2" in it. Now that I think about it, I should have a bonus melody on the 10-year anniversary of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

Every Mario Kart game has had tracks with outstanding music, and Sky Garden is a great example of outstanding music for the 3rd Mario Kart game in the Mario Kart series. I wish I could say Rainbow Road and Cheese Land were better than Sky Garden when it comes to music, but it's hard to make up my mind when it comes to picking out a Mario Kart melody. I try to keep things balanced. This list would be all Mario Kart music without me balancing things out.

Super Mario Kart

Donkey Kong Jr. makes an appearance in this game and does not come back to any future Mario Kart game.
This is the only Mario Kart game to have 5 tracks in a cup instead of 4.

Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart 64 is the first Mario Kart game to show elevation on race tracks and battle courses.
Mario Kart 64 introduced Sherbet Land and Wario Stadium, two race tracks that inspired Sherbet Land for the GCN Mario Kart and Wario Stadium for the DS Mario Kart.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Mario Kart: Super Circuit has 40 race tracks, which is more than any other Mario Kart game.
