Tingle is a recurring character from the The Legend of Zelda series. He is a middle-aged man who wears a skintight, green suit and has an obsession with fairies. In the The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tingle provides the player with maps of the various areas in the game while in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Tingle translates the Triforce Charts.

Tingle makes his first appearance in the Mario series in Super Smash Bros. Melee. He appears on the the Great Bay stage floating in mid-air with his balloon. Tingle's balloon can be used as an extra platform, although it sink slowly. The balloon can also be popped, dropping Tingle onto the stage or into the water.

Tingle appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U as an Assist Trophy. When summoned, he will perform his Kooloo-Limpah dance and a random event will happen. These events include spawning multiple Hammers and Golden Hammers, having everyone under the effects of the Superspicy Curry item, make all the opponents slip for a few seconds, zooming in on the character who summoned Tingle, or even doing nothing and flying away with his balloons.

Tingle is a mysterious middle-aged man who thinks he's "the very reincarnation of a fairy." His bizarre behavior and unique speech are just little pieces of his vibrant personality. Tingle travels by way of a small hot-air balloon, making maps of the lands below him. Pop his balloon, and Tingle will fall to earth to sell his maps.
