Blocky ('Shroom Staff portrait)

Hello, 'Shroom readers! I deeply, deeply apologize for this issue coming to you late. We have absolutely no excuse for dropping the ball here, and it's completely our fault that you're getting this issue later than you should. It won't happen again, you can count on that!

I'd like to congratulate Hypnotoad (talk) and Turboo (talk) for winning the Awards Director Election, and I wish them luck in handling next year's Awards Ceremony. I'm sure that with them behind the helm, Mario Awards XI will be better than ever. As for Ultimate Music Battle, that's still going! Please check out Mariocastle.it to vote on the latest rounds!

See you all next month, and on time this time!

Superchao, Sub-Director

Staff Section of the Month for September 2016

STAFF-VOTED SECTION OF THE MONTH
Place Section Writer Reasoning
1st Anton's Half-Baked Reviews Hypnotoad (talk) Anton's newest section debuts with a Staff SOTM win, and it's definitely a deserved win. This incredibly well-written piece is one of the most unique Critic Corner sections for a while. It's clear Anton had a lot of fun writing it, and his unique style makes for a very fun read. This section helps create a more casual and welcoming environment in Critic Corner, which is something we know readers will appreciate.
2nd Cooking Guide The Pyro Guy (talk) It's nice to see sections within the same team work together; it's really find fun and it's something more contributors of non-fiction sections should strive for is some sense of a voice and universe. TPG has achieved this and it makes us look forward to seeing where his sections go from one to the next.
3rd Police Blotter Lord Bowser (talk) Naturally, the same compliment regarding the collaboration is extended to Lord Bowser as well. It was particularly enjoyable that it had a writer's voice within the section on top of the actual information; it's that layer that makes it shine in Fake News. And this image was the cherry on top.
4th Galactic Expedition Meta Knight (talk) This section is so well-written, descriptive, and informative that it's easy to follow even for people who are not familiar with the Metroid series. And for those familiar with the series, it just makes you want to go back and play the games.

Congratulations to all our writers on their amazing sections! We really appreciate all your work!
