The Inky Sauce + Point Swap recipe for Poison Mushrooms didn't work for me, but Inky Sauce + Slow Shroom did work.
Also, with Zess Deluxe, Whacka Bump + Turtley Leaf didn't work for me, while Whacka Bump + Golden Leaf did.
Do those recipes have a 50% chance of working? They aren't marked. --PyroGuy6 Sprite of a Pyro Guy, from Paper Mario. I'M BURNING! Ow. ShyguyYakuman.gif 17:22, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

Replenish, Restore, or Refill?[edit]

I went through the effects of the items on this article and found that some used the word "replenish", some used the word "restore" and others used the word "refill". Should we change it all to use just one of these words to make it look uniform? ILikeSMW 11:01, 17 August 2011 (EDT)

Question[edit]

So, I really don't see much wrong with this page. What is it that's being tried to acheive, exactly? Maybe some Images, like the other pages? Or maybe some grammar errors? --T P A

This page is kinda bad[edit]

Mostly the recipe sorting and the way the whole thing is set up. Like, okay, so you say that certain recipes have only a 50% chance of success. Is it the OUTPUT that has only a 50% success rate? Or is it the particular combination of items only works 50% of the time? The highlighting would lead me to believe it's the output, but I've never yet had a fire flower become anything other than a Spicy Soup (which is marked as a 50% recipe). Furthermore, the Maple Syrup + Super Shroom combo is listed under two different recipes, the obvious Maple Super and the less intuitive Mango Delight. Seriously, what? Can you actually make a Mango Delight without a Keel Mango? YourBuddyBill (talk) 22:56, 16 April 2015 (EDT)

Well, after wasting three hours of my life, I can conclusively say that the only thing you can do with a Gold Bar in the kitchen is to combine it with a Point Swap to create a mushroom. YourBuddyBill (talk) 18:44, 18 April 2015 (EDT)

Breaking News: I just combined Thunder Bolt and Mystery at Zess T.'s and I got a Thunder Rage. Is this consistent? What ELSE have we been missing about the mystery? Details when I find them. Edit: Not consistent. The next time I got a Zess Cookie. Looks like Thunder Bolt + Mystery = something random. YourBuddyBill (talk) 23:08, 18 April 2015 (EDT)

After wasting three more hours of my life, I've found that Thunder Bolts can be used in a total of seven combinations without creating a Mistake. YourBuddyBill (talk) 13:47, 19 April 2015 (EDT)

I found out that if you cook a Whacka bump you'll get a Zess Special. Granted the Zess Special is worse than the Whacka bump but they put an Ultra shroom as one of the ingredients \'_'/ - anonymous

Mistake[edit]

Shouldn't a Mistake be on the list? Artwork of Koops from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorKoops (message) 21:23, 29 June 2018 (EDT)

It is. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 21:30, 29 June 2018 (EDT)

Sortable Recipes[edit]

I'd suggest rearranging the table to be more like https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Tayce_T._recipes for ease of sorting.

TYYD item template?[edit]

Different Zess T. recipe results between Japanese and international versions[edit]

There is a video and a google document that goes in-depth between the recipe results between Japanese and international versions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MURTkSc-pEA

Thanks for bringing it up. This info should certainly be added. What's the way to incorporate it? Shoud recipe lists and templates have "Paper Mario RPG" or "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (Japanese)" when differences come up? LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:24, January 20, 2021 (EST)

We could use the text "Japanese version only" and "Non-Japanese versions only" for these recipe differences. Mr. Kite (talk) 15:17, February 19, 2021 (EST)

These are all the differences in recipe results between the Japanese and international versions:

Item Combination Japan International
Poison Shroom & Turtley Leaf Mistake Shroom Broth
Keel Mango & Mushroom Mistake Zess Dinner
[Mushroom/Lifeshroom] & Peachy Peach Mistake Zess Dinner
Fresh Pasta & Ultra Shroom Zess Special Zess Deluxe
Peachy Peach & Ultra Shroom Zess Dinner Zess Special
[Dried Shroom/Mushroom/Super Shroom/Life Shroom] & Fresh Pasta Zess Dinner Zess Special
Point Swap & Poison Shroom Ultra Shroom Mushroom
Thunder Bolt & Thunder Rage Trial Stew Mistake
Jammin' Jelly & Slow Shroom Maple Super Jelly Super
[Turtley Leaf/Golden Leaf] & [Life Shroom/Ultra Shroom] Life Shroom Shroom Steak
[Turtley Leaf/Golden Leaf] & Mushroom Life Shroom Shroom Fry
[Turtley Leaf/Golden Leaf] & Super Shroom Life Shroom Shroom Roast

I think we should have the background color red for recipe combinations that give different results in the Japanese version. Mr. Kite (talk) 17:41, June 4, 2021 (EDT)

Printing - Horrible Experience[edit]

Setup: Chromebook Core i3

Printer: HP Envy 4500

Browser: Chrome Version 111.0.5563.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

The table that looks all great on screen, when printed makes very odd mistakes in the grid. I've tried multiple printing settings. Landscape, portrait, selecting stuff and choosing to print only the selected part. All methods produce a grid that doesn't align and is unusable.

I can't imagine I'm the first person to mention this but...I'll just wind up using the non-graphical recipe list I'm sure I can find on Google.

These rowspans....[edit]

The revision without the rowspans[1] was far easier to read. Trying to read left from right and jumping from rowspan to rowspan is really tiresome. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:44, April 27, 2023 (EDT)

Adding the talk template. These rowspans and use of rows in general are impeding the readibility of this table, and this design has been used in all pages. I like to see their removal in favor of linebreaks as in the old revision. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! Possible Switch-Exclusive Recipes[edit]

Just as international-exclusive recipes are highlighted in red and Japanese-exclusive ones highlighted in blue, is there a plan should the 2024 Nintendo Switch version include its own exclusive versions? Has the team discussed possible highlight colors, such as yellow or green, should this come to pass? --Dus T. (talk) 17:34, October 10, 2023 (EDT)
