Snapjaw (fish)

A Snapjaw is an invulnerable piranha-like species of fish. They resemble pink Lockjaws.
Snapjaws appear normally near water's surface, following the Kongs throughout the level to attack them when they attempt to fall into the water. Once locked on its prey, the Snapjaw would bite mercilessly, forcing the Kongs to get out from the water.
The first appearance of Snapjaws was in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. In these games, Snapjaws only appear in two levels (and only one Snapjaw per level at that), "Slime Climb" and "Clapper's Cavern".
In "Slime Climb", a Snapjaw would follow Diddy and Dixie Kong throughout the level, a half-sunken ship that was still sinking at a rapid pace. Elsewhere, in "Clapper's Cavern", a Snapjaw would once again follow the Kongs throughout the level. In order to avoid the hungry fish in this level, the Kongs had to employ the freezing powers of their animal buddy Clapper the Seal.
Due to the fact that they cannot be defeated, Snapjaws should just be avoided.
