A planet is a large body that orbits a sun (or star) in outer space. A planet is usaly round or sphericle but various planets found in the Super Mario Galaxy galaxies take on different shapes such as a yoshi's head or a pill. This is impossible in the real world because of the laws of physics that restrict the world to only round, sphericle shapes. Some examples of planets are Earth and the Mushroom Planet. Planets in Super Mario Galaxy and the real world come in all sizes too. Some planets in Super Mario Galaxy can range from a size no bigger than a school bus to the size of Earth or bigger, planets in the Mario series are relativly small. Planets in the real world range from the size of smaller than Earth to bigger than Jupiter. Planets in both the Mario series and the real world have very diverse climates and ecosystems such as planets that are a desert such as Dusty Dune Galaxy's planets and Mars to very cold planets such as the planets of Snow Cap Galaxy. It is common knowlege that planets serve as a living place for almost any living creature such as humans and goombas. Other well known Nintendo charcters travle to different planets frequently such as Captain Olimar, Fox, and, Samus Aran. An example of a creature who may roam space without a true environment is Squirps from Super Paper Mario. Other creatures that may live in space are the residents of the Whoa Zone wich is presumably another dimension or another location in space.
