Piranha Sprout

Piranha Sprouts are seedling Piranha Plants that have the ability to walk. They are found in the game Yoshi's Story. Basically, they are the bud of a Piranha Plant, with green shoes. Their ability to walk is extremely limited to short waddles. The Piranha Sprout does not achieve true mobility until its metamorphosis into a Piranha Pest.

Piranha Sprouts are very rare, as they transform into a Piranha Pest early in their life cycle. They are most common in the native home of the Piranha Plant, the Piranha Grove. Piranha Sprouts, like Pests, are able to shrink anything that escapes from their mouth. Not having developed the squeaks Piranha Pests make, or having developed the roars made by Piranha Plants, the only sound a Piranha Sprout can make is a frog-like croak. The only known way of defeating a Piranha Sprout is by shooting it with an egg.
