Mario Kart Slot Cars is a toy based on the game Mario Kart DS for the Nintendo DS. It was made in 2005 after the release of Mario Kart DS. It costs around thirty dollars. It comes with two cars, Mario and Yoshi/Donkey Kong/Wario; each of these have a personalized controller. The track is about nine feet long. This game is similar to Scalextrix, a game/toy found in the real world. It is possible it was inspired by Slot Car Derby from Mario Party, as the track and karts look more like the ones in the Slot Car Derby than Mario Kart DS karts and tracks-also, the name of the mini-game is Slot Car Derby.
