  7. Per everybody -Meat Knight
  8. I support it. It may be a little off on information, but it has a great selection of images and there is already quite a lot of information about him. If nobody has even heard of Bowser and they view his article, I'm sure they'd find out nearly everything they need to know about him. Plus, he's one of the main characters of the franchise. [edit] Oppose

  1. -- Sir Grodus – I find this article to be somewhat of a mess, poorly written in some areas and lacking information in others.
  2. Cobold (talk · contribs) - It lacks any form of structure, it reads like a random pile of things to say about Bowser.
  3. Mr. Guy the GuyO RLY?E Per Grodus
  4. Walkazo - A Personal History section for Baby Bowser's role in Yoshi's Island DS needs to be made.
  5. PRETxZELion E T C Per All
  6. This article is too lengthy, most people will find it too daunting to read, and quite boring in parts. - Image:Bob.gif Bob-omb buddy Image:Bob.gif
  7. Per above. It's way top long, perhaps the longest article on the wiki. Image:Blueyoshi.gif IceyoshiImage:Blueyoshi.gif
  8. Mumbles Per Iceyoshi. Super Mario Galaxy sectioned can really be shortened, and the Paper Mario section is a tad lengthy.
  9. Toadster_04 Lengthy and poorly written at parts. Bowser is a deserving character, but not with this unorganized page.
  10. Goomb-omb It looks unprofessional because of the massive amount of templates and images.

[edit] Comments

A lot of this could be rewritten slightly, or just generally cleaned-up, with stuff (Mario is Missing!, etc.) information being added. Also I feel somewhat... bombarded with images when I look through this article. -- Sir Grodus

Bowser's article is the second biggest article on the wiki losing only to a list of trophy descriptions in super smash bros. melee. Bowser's big article about the #1 villain should be a featured article! PP, a major bowser fan

This sould be deleted eventauly because of all the fan votes...Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E

What? Why are fan votes bad?

Darkness Reign.

Because the FA's are about article quality, not wether you are a fan of the character or not. Pokémon DP

PP: The fact that it's big is irrevalant, I could add a gigantic amount of speculation and overly-detailed explanation on the Don Bongo page, should it get featured? Currently, Bowser article is rather... poor. Glowsquid

I suggest a complete overhaul, or at least major clean-up, before this could even by considered as a Featured Article. -- Sir Grodus

Guys, a lot of the support votes are just fan votes, as Mr. Guy said. Son of Suns, your logic that a support vote means they think the article is of good quality, regardless of what they say, is bad. People will say "This article is of good quality" or "This article has a good amount of Image" if they think the article is of good quality. If they vote "Bowser is my favorite character" or "Bowser is the coolest character, he must be an FA", that doesn't mean they think the article is of good quality, that means they just like the character. Those votes should be removed. Pokémon DP

But the article won't become an FA even if there are a hundred support votes. What is most important is valid oppose votes. A support is a pledge to work on the article, and if you don't, the article won't become an FA. No big deal. You can't equate a nomination to an actual FA. The nomination is only a process. It does not mean an article is FA worthy. Also, we would have to remove every support vote if we remove one, as a support vote needs to be justified with every single requirement on the FA nomination page. Basically, a support is a pledge while an oppose is an actual vote. -- Son of Suns

Can we just get rid of fan votes?Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E On top of the feutured articles page, it says no fanvotes

How do we know what a fan vote is? A support is really not even a vote. It's a pledge to work on the article. These users may actually work on the article to get it to FA status. Perhaps they may only do so because Bowser is their favorite character. Who knows? But if they get it to FA status, does that even matter? A lot of users work on their favorite character articles. If they do so, good for them. -- Son of Suns

But two of the fan voters only had one edit and it's this page! Then see their contributions!Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E

But they may come back. You don't know if they will or not. Remember, it could be one hundred support votes to five oppose votes and Bowser will not become a featured article. Majority does not win in FA nominations. There must be zero oppose votes. -- Son of Suns

Like most users that have one edit in a three weeks since they jioned means that they'll never come back, some users don't even have 1 edit!Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E

You are assuming they will never come back. We must have faith in our users. And again, support votes are pledges, not actual votes, so it doesn't matter. -- Son of Suns

Saying "I love Bowser" doesn't sound like they're talking about the article so does "#1 Villian" what does this sound like, improving articles that are nominated?Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E

One - you don't know. Maybe they like the character and the article. Two - support votes essentially mean nothing. Bowser could have one million support votes - votes like "Bowser is the best" and "I love Bowser" - and as long as there is one oppose vote, Bowser will not become an FA. If we removed these so-called "fan votes", what's to stop users from removing votes with no justification? A lot of support votes just have the user's name. Those should probably be removed cause they could be fan votes. Also, some support votes point out the flaws in the article - they should be removed because they show the article is not FA worthy. Many users don't work on articles they support anyways - should we monitor everyone's contributions and if they don't edit an article should their vote be removed? Many people did not edit the articles they supported, such as Goomba and Waluigi, and now they are FAs. Did their votes not count? -- Son of Suns

Is it just me, or do users without signatures usually make fan votes?~PY Image:Purpleyoshisig.PNG

It might have something to do with Mr. Guy's complaint about the one-time-users only voting on these sorta things but not doing anything else. However, my brother PP and I don't have a proper signature for our account (because we want to be able to say who's actaully speaking), and while he did make a "fan vote" of sourts, I certainly didn't, nor will I ever do so. Having siad that, I don't think its good to make those sorta general/steriotypical statements. Now about the argument over "fan votes", Mr. Guy is right, they are annoying, but as SoS says, they don't actually affect whether or not the article will be featured, so don't get bent outta shape over it. People will be stupid, people will be illogical, people will be annoying. Deal with it. And take solace in the knowledge that your worthwhile vote is gonna make a difference. - Walkazo
Props for the last sentence. -- Son of Suns

Hmmm... this is a stagnet nomination, should it get deleted? Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!E

Mr. Guy, the page says nothin' about fan votes. Toadette 4evur 17:24, 31 January 2008 (EST)

It should... InfectedShroom.I liek this image.
It simply doesn't matter. There may be dozens of fan votes; as long as there is one (valid) oppose, they won't count. Time Questions 09:35, 11 January 2008 (EST)
True point, but fan votes don't make the article better. InfectedShroom.I liek this image. Ah well, it won't ever stop.
Surely they don't, but the problem with making "No fan votes" a rule is: How do you know if a vote is only a fan vote? There is no need for one to state reasons when supporting an article, so one might say "Bowsa rulzz!!11" and actually be referring to the article. Time Questions 15:18, 13 January 2008 (EST)
Yup, you're right again. The votes may never stop, no matter what. InfectedShroom.I liek this image.

Er, Bob-omb buddy, your opposal is mostly point of view. You may find the article boring, but others may not. And long articles are (usually) good. So, do you have any other reasons to oppose? InfectedShroom.I liek this image. And I also removed my oppose because it was of no consequence as well. ;)

I call for the removal of the following supporting votes: QueenDrakokoopa's (fan vote), Darkhalen's (fan vote), Mr. L-bot (contradicted your support with the word "if"), Super Yoshi10's (fan vote), Jedi8246's (fan vote, and he already has an article. :/ ), Jaffffey's (fan vote), and WaluigiRocks' (fan vote). Also, I vote that Bob-omb buddy's opposal is removed, as it's his problem if the article is boring, too long, and daunting. InfectedShroom.I liek this image.

Haha, for once I support the removal of a support vote, that is Mr. L-bot's (he even admits that he doesn't want to support it at the moment, and yet does so... so we have the right to remove it). I also support the removal of Bob-omb buddy's vote. For the rest: opposed. Time Questions 07:57, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
Bob-omb Buddy, is that even valid? "The article is too lengthy. It can be daunting to read and is quite boring at parts.", what are we supposed to do, Make it one sentence and make it exciting? Like "BOWSER IS MARIO'S ENEMY!!!!!", hmmm? Toadette !!
Toadette, are you voting for the removal of Bob-omb buddy's vote then?
I also vote for the removal of Iceyoshi's vote: "too long" is not a valid criterion. Time Questions 07:17, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
I'm down with that. I also call for the removal of Mumbles' vote, and part of Toadster 04's, as long articles are not a problem here. InfectedShroom.I liek this image.

Sure,I,m good with it. User:Mario246

About the length, I think it is a problem if parts are unnecessary. If sections or paragraphs are redundant or unneeded, they should be removed. It makes the article more difficult to read, edit and keep it in good shape. However, if required, I will remove that part of my vote. I feel differently, so I'd prefer to keep it there.

To fix length issues, though, perhaps parts like Baby Bowser's roles in SMW2:YI and YIDS can be migrated into Baby Bowser's page (removed from here, linked and mentioned) and the alter egos section made into it's own page in order to shorten the article. Things like this may be able to help with the problems I listed.

I've gone through and edited a bit of spelling/grammar and clarification issues myself, though, so I feel it's being fixed.
