Item Roulette

The Item Roulette is a gadget that comes from the Mario Kart series and also in certain Mario-Sports series. When a character gets an Item Box in the Mario Kart series, a little box appears at the top or upon a corner of the screen, starts rolling through items, until eventually stopping, showing an item that the driver has obtained. However, if the player pushes the item button, the roulette will stop faster.

In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, if the player goes through a Double Item Box, two item roulettes appear at the same time. If a character gets a special item, the gadget makes a different sound effect while the word "special" appears across the roulette.
