Elliot Harvey Atkin, commonly shortened to Harvey Atkin (December 18, 1942 – July 17, 2017), was a Canadian actor and voice actor who did work in various films and television series. He is best known for his role as Morty Melnick in Meatballs, Sergeant Ronald Coleman in Cagney & Lacey and for voicing Sam in The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police. He died on July 17, 2017 at the age of 74 due to brain cancer.[1]

Harvey Atkin was also widely known for voicing King Koopa in all three of the Super Mario animated series, but has also voiced several other minor characters,[citation needed] such as Tryclyde and a Snifit in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, and had the most voice work on the show.
