In case someone asks, this is my source for the Japanese logos in MK64. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:13, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

Get Rid[edit]

of these images. There's no way we're going to be able to obtain most of the images for these sponsors. Having any would just make it look bad. Fixitup

Conjecture[edit]

Should the {{conjecture}} template be put up on this page? I don't believe in any Mario Kart games it refers to these names as "sponsors". YosharioYoshi holding Mario's Cap artwork from Super Mario 64 DS.

Or we move it to "List of Mario Kart Advertisment Signs". - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:08, 11 November 2009 (EST)
I support that. YosharioYoshi holding Mario's Cap artwork from Super Mario 64 DS.
Well, if theya re there its cause they are sponsors, but Cobold's idea doesnt seem bad TucayoSig.png Unlike other ideas...
Isn't it spelled "advertisement" though? :P Time Questions 17:27, 11 November 2009 (EST)

Adding MK7 ad signs[edit]

Hey, y'all. I'm new here, and I figured I'd contribute by adding all of the advertisement signs found in Mario Kart 7. Problem is I'm not sure if some I've found are really advertisements... then again, some of the ones on here aren't exactly ads either. I think we should change the wording of "advertising" around somehow. --Schmerpin 18:17, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

What is the point?[edit]

There are some cameos in these sponsors, not to mention spoofs. That should be enough to warrant this article being here.

Organize images with a gallery format[edit]

Reorganize 7-0
A table is just unnecessary to this page, it takes up so much space for no reason and mashes everything together. Using a gallery format, like the one on my draft page, we can sort out the images and trivia by game, it's easier to look through in my opinion.

Support[edit]

  1. MegaKoopa (talk) My proposal.
  2. Baby Luigi (talk) Editing the table to add sponsors is a nightmare in itself so I support reformatting this page by game it appears in. Makes it much more organized and light years easier to edit it.
  3. Tails777 (talk) Per proposal. The draft looks way better than what it is now. Makes things way easier.
  4. Mario (talk) Less empty space as well.
  5. Ghost Jam (talk) per proposal.
  6. Yoshi876 (talk) Per all.
  7. Koopakoolklub (talk) It's much neater and we can categorize them by game. Per Baby Luigi.

Comments[edit]

If this meant to make it a gallery namespace page, or just reformatting it like in your draft but leaving it with its current mainspace designation? - Walkazo 17:07, 18 April 2014 (EDT)

I don't know, It will won't do with Gallery:Advertisments in the Mario Kart series, what about splitting the list into the gallery of each game.--

I don't think he wants to turn this into a gallery mainspace. He wants to reformat the page so it's easier to edit and much more organized and frankly I strongly agree with him. It's always a hassle to edit this page whenever a new sponsor is found, especially in Arcade games. Making galleries, very much like this and this is the absolute best way to go. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 17:31, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
I only want to change the format. I changed the name of the proposal to make this clearer. MegaKoopa (talk) 19:47, 18 April 2014 (EDT)

Why not putting sponsors for every game in it's gallery, and the trivia in the article itself? With out this whole list.--

Also, just remove the caption underneath the images unless the images are blurry, since they're not needed for most literate people. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 12:25, 19 April 2014 (EDT)

Organize by game?[edit]

I think it would be neater if it was organized by game instead of alphabetically. thoughts?

"Sponsor" is a better name.[edit]

These aren't necessarily advertisements, since most of these aren't pitches for people to buy a product. You wouldn't call these company logos "advertisements", would you? On a car, on a billboard, whatever this is, these are more likely to be fictional sponsors than advertisement signs, so it should be moved to List of sponsors in the Mario Kart series. A logo isn't an ad, no, but putting a logo on a race track/in a stadium/etc. is clearly advertising the company. Hence, an advertisement.--Vommack (talk) 19:02, 8 May 2014 (EDT)
When a company is sponsoring a race, they will put their logo on a lot of things, usually on cars. It can be considered a form of marketing and advertising, but it isn't necessarily an "advertisement". The logo on a car, the logo on a billboard, they're still sponsor logos. The closest thing to an advertisement we have is Green Fuel, but everything is just fictional corporate logos and a little motto. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. "List of Mario Kart Sponsors" was the original name of the page and Ithink it's much better since, well, that's what they are. --Glowsquid (talk) 19:07, 8 May 2014 (EDT)

It was, and I have no idea why it was moved to "advertisments"[sic]. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:30, 8 May 2014 (EDT)

Other sponsors in Mario Kart 8?[edit]

We also need to add "!-UP Mushroom Car Insurance Group." which can be seen in Super Bell Subway. I'ts one of the first signs on the right side-wall at the beginning of the race.

MKDS sponsors[edit]

The images showing MKDS sponsors are simply screenshots of the karts driving past the sponsors. Shoudn't we change it to being sprite or texture rips? It was done with every other game. MP8Mario.pngMarioKid (Talk) Official artwork of Luigi. 16:50, 29 April 2016 (EDT)

That's the idea of it. btw, you should format your signature properly. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 16:53, 29 April 2016 (EDT)

More missing Mario Kart 8 Sponsors?[edit]

Hello, I've recently finished complete lists of sponsors for every course that features them in Mario Kart 8, and I have noticed that we still appear to be missing the following sponsors (Sub-points are courses and advertisement means within the courses which feature logos):

  • Bob-omb plugs
    • There's a picture in the graffiti on Super Bell Subway, and we have it on the Wiki with the other graffiti, so it may just need to isolated rather than getting a new one.
  • Bullet Bill Speed Trial
    • Just a missing alternative banner- it's a long one that appears throughout Mario Kart Stadium.
  • Burning DK
    • Just a different missing exclusive-to-course poster-In the jump accessed alleyway after the anti-gravity section of Toad Harbor.
  • Egg Cup
    • Banners around Yoshi Circuit, as we have nothing for the cup.
  • Golden Wheel
    • An easy to find banner in Mario Kart Stadium, has a golden Wii wheel on it and appears through the course.
  • Green Shell Taxi
    • Surprisingly found on, you guessed it, Taxis, in Toad's Turnpike.
  • Lord Bowser
    • Bowser's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium (It's the logo of the blue team in battles).
  • Ludwig Painting
    • There's a picture in the graffiti on Super Bell Subway, and we have it on the Wiki with the other graffiti, so it may just need to isolated rather than getting a new one.
  • Luigi Gusters
    • Luigi's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium) and hot air balloons in Mount Wario.
  • Mario Kart Oil
    • Cans of Oil which are branded as Mario Kart- They appear in Mario Kart Stadium, Mario Circuit (Wii U), Mario Circuit (GBA), Yoshi Cicuit and Wario Stadium. They first appear in Mario Kart 7 (Namely one of Toad's artworks), so it could be found there too potentially? Also found on petrol pumps in Yoshi Circuit.
  • Mario Super Motor Team
    • Mario's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium (It's the logo of the red team in battles), hot air balloons in Mount Wario, petrol pumps in Yoshi Circuit, trucks in Excitebike Arena and garage doors in Royal Raceway.
  • Moo Moo Meadows Milk
    • A truck with a different design to the current one can be found in Toad's Turnpike.
  • Mushroom Cup
    • Allsorts. Banners, emblems, signs- All found in Mario Kart Stadium.
  • Mushroom Piston
    • Windows in Toad Harbor- It's an exclusive-to-the-course poster to that course which features Toad and his Standard Kart, it's quite small in windows around the canopy area.
  • Nintendo
    • I'm fairly sure this counts, but not 100%. A couple of grey and white banners in Mario Circuit (Wii U) and Mount Wario.
  • Peach & Daisy Royal Patisserie
    • Another poster, but this time with Sweet Sweet Canyon as the background- Appears in Toad Harbor, Yoshi Circuit and Super Bell Subway.
  • Princess Peach
    • Peach's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium and garage doors in Royal Raceway.
  • Propeller Toad Transport
    • The only missing airline. Anything would be good- There are planes, crates, trackside banners and Toads in Sunshine Airport, signs and trucks in Toad's Turnpike and crates and trackside banners in Ice Ice Outpost.
  • Toad Harbor
    • There are banners hanging from lamp posts throughout the course, and posters in the jump accessed alleyway after the anti-gravity section with the Peach Statue of Liberty, and a suitcase sticker in Sunshine Airport. The poster with the statue also appears in Yoshi Circuit.
  • Toad Mushroom Powered
    • Toad's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium and trucks in Excitebike Arena.
  • Toad Polar Expedition 2014-2015
    • We really don't seem to like these Toad-related sponsors. Anyway, found on the track, trackside banners, crate, boat, flags and cans in Ice Ice Outpost.
  • Toad Services
    • You'll never believe that it is found on a Service Station in Toad's Turnpike.
  • Water Park
    • A poster which has Koopa Troopa stood in front of the Sub Coaster- Found in Toad Harbor, Sunshine Airport and Yoshi Circuit.
  • Women of Racing Organisation
    • Another missing exclusive-to-course poster-In the jump accessed alleyway after the anti-gravity section of Toad Harbor, and only features Peach and Daisy.
  • Yoshi Runners
    • Yoshi's Team- Crowd banners and pit area by the start line of Mario Kart Stadium and petrol pumps in Yoshi Circuit.

I would be very grateful if anybody can get any of these. I would do it myself, but I am quite frankly terrible with anything like that, and am unable to get any of them. I know there are a lot, and we might not be able to get all of them, I don't mean to be over expectant, I'm just working from my sponsors lists. Apologies if you found some of my joke comments awful. But if you can rip sprites or textures or take accurate and clear screenshots (And own Mario Kart 8, obviously), please help! I would appreciate it very much if anyone can get these though!

BBQ Turtle (talk) 15:32, 13 April 2017 (EDT)

This might have textures of what you're looking for. These model files should come with the texture set for the entire track. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:39, 13 April 2017 (EDT)

Can we get the sponsors from Mario Kart Tour?
