Friend or Foe? is the 5th level of world 4 in Yoshi's Island DS. This is the first level where Baby Bowser is playable.
The level starts in an outside snowy area with Piranha Plants and a few ice blocks for Baby Bowser to melt. Yoshi can move under a platform on the main path by defeating a few Piranha Plants and entering a pipe. The pipe leads into a cave area where the player needs to defeat all of the Piranha Plants to get a Flower. Yoshi will then exit via the same pipe.
Yoshi will enter a pipe at the end of the first area into another cave area. Some torches have to be lit as the area gets darker. There is water at the bottom to swim back if the player falls. The next area has more torches to light, but the player can see without them. Nipper Plants and Shy Guys inhabit this cave. Yoshi will come out of the cave into another snowy area with the goal at the end. Although, Yoshi can move a platform upward around a floating area using Baby Bowser's fire breath. This can be hard, though, as Bumpties can bounce Yoshi off the platform. The area has the last Flower and a few Red Coins on a floating area.
