Mario traverses much of the Mushroom Kingdom during the events of Paper Mario. Later on, many other games revisit these areas which first appeared in the game, like Dry Dry Desert. However, the game's geography and regions are different from every other games'. There are 9 regions in the Mushroom Kingdom: Goomba Road, Pleasant Path, Forever Forest, Gusty Gulch, Toad Town, Lavalava Island, Flower Fields, Shiver Region, and Shooting Star Summit.
