Kirby is a series of platformers created by Nintendo that has crossed over multiple times with the Super Mario franchise, starring the eponymous pink blob-like mascot. The most notable example is the Super Smash Bros. series (also directed by Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai); outside of this, both franchises have freely referenced each other, mainly in the form of cameo appearances, although Spiny has appeared as an enemy in a few Kirby games.
