Bomb Toss

Bomb Toss is a move used by few characters in the Mario series. It involves the character to throw a bomb or any other explosive item. It is similar to the move Shell Toss.

Mario and company were the first to use it in Super Mario Bros. 2. They could pull a bomb out of the grass. If held too long, the bomb would explode and cause the player to lose a heart. The bomb could be thrown on the ground and would explode after about 5 seconds. The explosion could defeat an enemy and/or destroy a cracked wall. Mouser, the bomber of bad dreams, would use it to attack as the second area boss. He could be defeated by fighting fire with fire; Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Toad could jump on his bombs, grab them, and return them in his direction.

General Guy used the Bomb Toss move in Paper Mario as an attack along with Lightning Slam (although Bomb Toss is the more common move). It did 4 points of damage to Mario, who would have to time his guard precisely in order to reduce damage.

Wario could toss huge bombs in Wario World, clearing away many enemies at one time. These bombs were called the Smiley Bombs. He could also throw bombs in Super Mario 64 DS.

Monty Moles are the most recent to use. In New Super Mario Bros., a Monty Mole could throw bombs while riding in the Monty Tank. As a boss, Monty Mole would try to stop Mario and Luigi. Instead of throwing generic bombs, he threw Bob-ombs.
