The 8 bits (sometimes called the 8-Bit Club) is the name of an organization of Shy Guys, Beezos, and Snifits that aided Wart in his conquest of the land of dreams, Subcon, in Super Mario Bros. 2. Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach encountered members of the 8 bits in almost every location they visited, be it in the desert, clouds, or tundra.
